As part of the H2Wind project (a component of H2Mare), a novel PEM electrolyzer is being developed that is directly connected to offshore wind turbines. The goal is to create a compact, efficient system that operates largely self-sufficiently even under the extreme conditions of the open sea.
To ensure this, the focus is on adapting the components to the marine environment and on an optimized plant design that facilitates installation and maintenance far from the coast. In addition, H2Wind is developing concepts for seawater treatment, hydrogen storage, and a comprehensive economic analysis of plant operations.
