The 4th National Hydrogen Grand Prix at the Chemnitz Industrial Museum — with the largest field of participants to date.
On 30 May, the 4th National Hydrogen Grand Prix took place at the Chemnitz Industrial Museum. For the fourth time the event was supported by the Fachkräfteallianz Sachsen and once again offered young talents a platform to demonstrate their technical skills, creativity and team spirit in the field of hydrogen technology.
With 17 participating teams, the competition reached its largest field of participants to date this year. The pupils competed in the four classes Stock, Hybrid, Prototype and Modified, facing the challenge of running their hydrogen-powered vehicles as efficiently and reliably as possible over the four-hour race distance.
The BMW Leipzig plant was won as a sponsor for two new teams and additionally supported the event with various racing supplies. BMW thus actively commits to young talents in the hydrogen field and makes an important contribution to strengthening forward-looking STEM education.
A special highlight of the German final was the first-ever participation of an all-female team. Despite it being their first official race, the participants successfully completed the full race distance and secured their place in the world final. In total, six teams qualified for the world final in Switzerland.
The 4th National Hydrogen Grand Prix in Chemnitz thus made clear the potential of the next generation — and how much enthusiasm, endurance and innovative strength young talents already bring to the future of hydrogen technology today.
